On January 30, 2026, at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the Faculty of Information Technology organized a scientific research exchange and discussion session for faculty members. The aim was to promote research activities, share academic directions, and strengthen the connection between research, teaching, and practical application. This is an important annual activity that contributes to improving the quality of education, updating new technological trends, and building a dynamic academic environment within the Faculty.
The scientific research session was attended by a large number of faculty members from the Faculty of Information Technology. Highlights included a presentation and sharing session on a specialized topic by Dr. Pham Van Dang, along with presentations of applied research topics by MSc. Luong Truong An and MSc. Pham Manh Trung Nguyen. The presentations focused on scientific research directions, innovative teaching methods, and the development of learning models closely linked to practice, meeting the needs of training information technology human resources in the context of digital transformation.
Opening the program, Dr. Pham Van Dang, as the main speaker, shared insightful perspectives on scientific research orientation in the field of information technology. The report focused on clarifying the role of research for university lecturers, not only for publishing scientific papers but also for directly contributing to improving teaching quality, developing learning materials, and guiding student research topics. Dr. Pham Van Dang emphasized potential research directions such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, computer networks, information security, and intelligent systems, particularly the potential application of research results to business and societal practices.
In addition, the report also addressed the importance of forming research groups, strengthening interdisciplinary and inter-university collaboration, and connecting with businesses. Pham Van Dang encouraged young lecturers to proactively participate in research projects, write articles for publication in prestigious scientific journals and conferences, and link research activities with supervising student theses, projects, and research topics. His presentation received much attention and generated lively discussions among the attending lecturers.

Continuing the program, MSc. Luong Truong An and MSc. Pham Manh Trung Nguyen presented their research topic on building an online learning website combining theory and practice, a highly applicable research direction suitable for the digital transformation trend in higher education. The topic focuses on designing and developing an online learning platform that not only provides theoretical content but also integrates practical functions, interactive exercises, simulations, and automated assessment.

According to the authors, the online learning website model combining theory and practice helps students access knowledge proactively and flexibly in terms of time and space, while enhancing their self-learning abilities and practical skills. The proposed system can support lecturers in managing content, monitoring student learning progress, evaluating learning outcomes, and improving teaching methods based on collected data. This is a suitable approach for the specifics of IT training, where practical skills and real-world experience play a crucial role.
The presentation by MSc. Luong Truong An and MSc. Pham Manh Trung Nguyen sparked much discussion regarding the feasibility of implementation in the Faculty of Information Technology, as well as the potential for expanding research to other courses and integrating new technologies such as artificial intelligence, learning analytics, and personalized learning content recommendation systems.
The scientific research seminar on January 30, 2026, took place in a serious, open, and highly academic atmosphere. Through presentations and discussions, lecturers from the Faculty of Information Technology at Nguyen Tat Thanh University gained a more comprehensive perspective on research orientation, while strengthening the connection between scientific research and teaching activities. This is an important foundation for the Faculty to continue developing research topics with scientific and practical value, contributing to enhancing the academic reputation and training quality of the University in the future.
