On November 22, 2024, at the auditorium on the 9th floor of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the Faculty of Information Technology (IT) successfully organized a scientific workshop on the topic “Graduate Orientation Programs and Opportunities for Students in the New Wave of Technology”.
In the context of the 4.0 technological revolution constantly opening up new opportunities and challenges, orientation and equipping students in the Information Technology (IT) field with knowledge has become more important than ever. To meet this need, the Faculty of IT, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association (HCA), organized a scientific workshop on the topic “Graduate Orientation and Opportunities in the New Wave of Technology”. This is an important event, not only helping students better understand their career development paths but also connecting them with leading experts and businesses.
The event is honored to have the participation of many leaders, experts, and representatives from prestigious organizations, creating a rich forum for exchange and sharing.
From the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association (HCA):
– Mr. Vu Anh Tuan – General Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association, one of the pioneering units in developing the IT ecosystem in Vietnam.
From the experts and speakers:
– Mr. Vo Xuan Phuc, CEO of AIDO Groups: A leading enterprise in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and new technology applications.
– Mr. Wilson Lieu, President of the Vietnam Digital Human Resources Development Alliance (AIID): With a strategic vision for developing digital human resources.
– Ms. Thuy Phan, IT Sales Manager at Stepmedia Software Vietnam: An expert in software development and commercialization of technology solutions.
On the part of the Faculty of Information Technology:
– The Head of the Faculty of Information Technology and the Deputy Heads of the Faculty
– Over 30 lecturers from the Faculty of Information Technology and over 600 students from the 21st cohort are the central figures of the workshop, who will be pioneers in seizing opportunities in the new technological era.
The workshop serves as a bridge between students and major businesses. Mr. Vu Anh Tuan from HCA affirmed the important role of technology alliances in supporting students’ access to the real-world work environment.
Speakers shared insights on technology trends shaping the labor market, including AI, machine learning, blockchain, and mobile application development. Mr. Vo Xuan Phuc, with his presentation “The Emerging Wave of Technology – A Golden Opportunity for Students in the Digital Age,” and his extensive experience in the field of AI, provided insightful perspectives on how this technology is changing the way we work and live. He emphasized that “Students not only need to be proficient in their field but also possess soft skills and innovative thinking to adapt to the ever-changing technological environment.”
In addition, Ms. Thuy Phan shared her experience working at Stepmedia Software Vietnam, highlighting the need for students to cultivate communication skills, teamwork, and a customer-oriented mindset. She delivered a presentation titled “Opportunities for Students in Vietnam’s IT Outsourcing (ITO) Industry in the Global Market.”
Mr. Wilson Lieu from AIID gave an impressive presentation on the strategy for developing digital human resources in Vietnam, while also encouraging students to be self-learning and proactive in improving their skills. Regarding the National Strategy on Research, Development, and Application of Artificial Intelligence to 2030, he shared: “There is no better time than now to enter the technology field. Those who seize the opportunity will be leaders in the future.”
The workshop provided practical value for students. Presentations from experts helped students update information on the labor market, necessary skills, and future orientation; students had the opportunity to directly ask questions and interact with business representatives, opening up possibilities for internships and future employment; the success stories of the speakers were a strong source of motivation, encouraging students to continuously learn and develop.
The workshop “Guiding Graduates and Opportunities Amidst the New Wave of Technology” was not only a place for knowledge sharing but also a bridge connecting students, universities, and businesses. The event reaffirmed the Faculty of Information Technology’s commitment to supporting students on their journey to conquer the future.
